METALLICA: 'So What' Book Signing Session Attended By 650 'Die-Hard' Fans

August 20, 2004

Six hundred and fifty die-hard fans attended an exclusive book signing with METALLICA at the legendary live music club First Avenue in Minneapolis on Monday night (August 16). METALLICA autographed every fan's copy of "So What! The Good, The Mad, and The Ugly" from midnight to 3 a.m. following their sold-out show earlier that evening at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Lucky fans won giveaway prizes including METALLICA fan club memberships and t-shirts while the club blasted METALLICA music and ran live concert and interview footage from previous shows on the big screen. Published by Broadway Books and edited by Steffan Chirazi, full-time chronicler of the band and editor of "So What!" magazine, a quarterly that is mailed to the 22,000 members of the METALLICA fan club, "So What! The Good, The Mad, and The Ugly" includes original interviews, handwritten notes from the band, intimate journal entries and more than 1000 exclusive photos. With the intimate involvement of band members, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo and compiled with the hard and humorous attitude that has earned METALLICA their place in the rock-god stratosphere, "So What! The Good, The Mad, and The Ugly" provides an all-access pass to the backstage.
